This is why I love The Netherlands

It’s really not so much that the authorities (the Dutch police in this case) sent out 17,000 text messages to the cellphones of fans who rioted at a Rotterdam footie game as it is the fact that the cell providers operating the airwaves on premises both tracked and divulged the numbers and names of the accounts of all fans present with an active mobile phone. Believe it or not, though, four suspects contacted the popo after getting the texts, and a fifth just turned himself in. Suppose if you’re dense enough to riot over a sports match you’re probably dense enough to turn yourself in over a text message.
